Kim -Ngan Hua is a Materials Science (MATS) PhD graduate student. Her research project investigates exciton coherence in small molecule semiconductors. She has also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for undergraduate Physics labs. Kim has received a BS in Chemistry from the San Jose Institute of Technology and an MS in Chemistry from the UMass Amherst, prior to joining our group

Katrina (Katy) Czar is a Physics major at the Univ. of Vermont. Now in her senior year, Katy is working on imaging grain boundaries in organic thin films for her Honors Thesis. Katy was the recipient of a Summer Research award from the Honors College in the Summer following her junior year.

Libin Liang is a Materials Science PhD student. His project investigates the effect of alloy disorder on excitonic states in crystalline small molecule semiconductors. He has also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for undergraduate Physics labs. Libin joined us after graduating from the Materials Science and Engineering program at South China Institute of Technology.

Prof. Madalina Furis graduated with a PhD in Physics from Univ. at Buffalo, SUNY in 2004. She spent the following two and a half years postdoc-ing at the Los Alamos National Laboratory site of the National Magnetic Field Lab (NHMFL-LANL) before joining the UVM Physics Department in 2006. She is the director of the Materials Science Program since 2013. Throughout her career she studies optical and magneto-optical properties of semiconductors and nanostructures.
