The Patrick Leahy Honors College Committee on Equity and Inclusion (CEI) invites you to apply to join the Student Equity Action Committee (SEAC). SEAC is a group of 6-8 HCOL student leaders from all class years who work to promote equity and inclusion in HCOL. Position Description:

The Honors College Student Equity Action Committee (SEAC) is composed of 6-8 undergraduate Honors College student leaders, 4-6 of whom are Members (and 2 of whom serve as Co-chairs). SEAC Members will work to enhance equity and inclusivity in Honors College initiatives. Members will work with the Honors College Dean and Committee on Equity and Inclusion (CEI) to establish inclusive programming, practices, and priorities for the Honors College.  Because of their high degree of responsibility, SEAC Members will be encouraged and expected to attend to their own needs, to practice and model self-care and sustainable activism, and to communicate clearly with CEI around their capacity, needs, and wellness.

Position requirements: Leaders must be full time undergraduate University of Vermont students, and Patrick Leahy Honors College students in good standing.

Desired qualifications and skills: Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work well independently and in groups. Strong communication (oral and written), critical thinking, and reflective skills. Preference will be given to students with prior experience in social justice or equity & inclusion work (i.e., demonstrated engagement through activism, campus leadership, education retreats, coursework). The PLHC  strongly encourages students of color, students with marginalized identities, and students actively engaged in social justice work to apply for these leadership positions.

Time commitment: Approximately 3-5 hours per week
