To promote excellence in undergraduate education at UVM by offering a residential learning college that attracts academically talented students and leads them towards superior educational outcomes.

Honors College Council and Committees

As the Honors College's primary governing body, the council sets curriculum and advises the dean on college policies. The Honors College Council is comprised of administrators, faculty, staff and students. Each undergraduate academic unit appoints two faculty representatives to the Council: typically an honors program director/coordinator and a representative from the unit's curriculum committee. Honors program directors and coordinators comprise the Honors College Subcommittee on Admission and Retention, and the representatives from the curriculum committees comprise the Honors College Curriculum Subcommittee.

Honors College Council meeting dates

Full Council Meetings:

The Honors College Council meets three times a semester.

Curriculum Subcommittee Meetings:

The Honors College Curriculum Subcommittee meets once a semester to review course and curricular proposals.

Admissions and Retention Subcommittee Meetings:

The Honors College Admissions and Retention Subcommittee meetins once a year to review sophomore and transfer admission applicants.
