Doug is a PhD student in the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences and an NSF Vermont EPSCoR GRA under the BREE project. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science at St. Lawrence University and worked as a software engineer at The Natural 
Capital Project before coming back to pursue an advanced degree. His time spent at NatCap modeling ecosystem services is what drives his current research interests of modelling complex environmental systems to use in application for better decision making on the landscape.
