Gund Tea - Ben Luce: The Scientific Case For Favoring Solar Over Wind in the Northeastern US

Oct 14, 2016
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
Johnson House 101

This presentation will examine the resource potentials of solar and wind in the US and Northeast,
as well as various other development and economic impact issues, in support of the conclusion that a ban on utility scale wind power development in the Northeast is fully justified and that the focus of renewable energy should be primarily on solar power.

Ben Luce is a physicist and an Associate Professor in the Natural Sciences Dept. at Lyndon State College. He is the former head of alternative energy for Los Alamos National Laboratory, worked as a renewable energy advocate for over a decade, and is an expert on alternative energy technology, especially solar and wind power, and also renewable energy policy.
