BIO
At UVM, I support STEM Scholars and other undergraduate STEM students in exploring career paths, building professional networks, and preparing for internships and future opportunities through one-on-one coaching, workshops, and programs. I also collaborate with faculty, alumni, employers, and campus partners to expand access to experiential learning and meaningful STEM career pathways.
My background is in planetary science and geology, and I previously worked as a research scientist and science team collaborator on NASA’s Perseverance rover mission. In that role, I contributed to Mars surface exploration and daily rover science operations, including spending two months living and working on Mars time (ask me about it!). I also bring extensive teaching and mentoring experience, including teaching high school geology in Switzerland, lecturing undergraduate courses, and engaging in science outreach through museums and K–12 classrooms.
I’ve also served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT-B in Indiana and Maryland. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring the Vermont outdoors with my wife and dog, tinkering at the local Generator Makerspace, and working on a knitting project that has taken me far too long to complete.
