To advance our mission of supporting students and alums in career exploration, readiness and success, we offer a range of services that promote career education, experiential learning, and building connections.
Career Interest Groups
Connect with peers, alums, employers, and faculty/staff who share your passions and career goals. Interest Groups are designed to support you in building a network, connecting with relevant opportunities, and learning more about industries of interest.
During the academic year, you can meet with one of our trained peer mentors between 11am and 4pm, Monday through Friday. No appointment needed! Bring your questions about resumes, cover letter, job search skills, networking, interviewing, experiential learning, career exploration, and more. Drop-ins are hosted in our main office located on the second floor of the Davis Center.
Labs, Workshops & Events
Join us on Wednesdays for a Resume Lab from 1:45 to 2:45pm during the academic year. Peer mentors are available to support you wherever you are in your resume-writing process. If you have a draft, please bring it with you - along with a laptop or tablet if you want to make edits.
We also offer rotating workshops on Tuesday afternoons from 3:15 to 4:45. Discover our next workshop topic - and other upcoming events - by logging in to Handshake and browsing the events feed.
From self-paced learning modules to an online networking platform, we have a number of different online resources available to you. Get started with Blackboard, join UVMConnect, and log-in to Handshake to build your skills, grow your network, and connect with new opportunities.
You can self-schedule a 30-minute one-on-one appointment with a Career Counselor through Handshake. These appointments are designed to help you reflect on your interests and skills, better understand the resources available to you, and take the next step towards finding an internship, job, or experiential learning opportunity.
