The Gund Institute for Environment is pleased to welcome 21 outstanding scholars from the University of Vermont and beyond.
This year’s cohort of newly affiliated members includes five UVM faculty members, three Global Affiliates, nine Graduate Fellows, and four Postdoctoral Fellows.
“The Gund Institute is driven by the belief that research should inspire action,” says Taylor Ricketts, Director of the Gund Institute for Environment at UVM. “We welcome these outstanding leaders and scholars as they pursue collaborative research solutions for critical environmental problems around the world.”
These new Gund community members come from UCLA, Oberlin College, Virginia Tech, the U.S. Department of State, and at least eight departments or programs in six UVM colleges and schools.
The new Gund Affiliates and Fellows will be recognized today at the Gund Welcome Back BBQ from 5-7 pm.

With today’s expansion for the 2022-23 academic year, the Gund community now totals over 250 scholars and leaders.

With today’s announcement, applications are now open to become a new Gund Fellow or Affiliate.
Proposals for the next round of Gund Catalyst Awards are due by October 12, 2022. Teams can apply for seed grants from $10,000 to $200,000. Previous Catalyst projects can apply for additional funding, and applicants can request funding for a postdoctoral researcher.
Applications for the next Gund Institute PhD Fellowships will open later this fall.
