David Batker, Gund Fellow and Executive Director of Earth Economics, was recently interviewed on KPLU, a branch of National Public Radio. The brief interview used broad strokes to cover a topic that has been discussed by economists, ecologists, environmentalist and more for decades - the value of nature being more than just what money it can bring in from the use of the raw materials such as lumber. Earth Economics and other groups are doing their best to educate others and "show that a sustainable economy will require accounting standards and investment decisions that factor in values - and costs - that are currently ignored."
