students on campus

If you are a current UVM student, you can start working toward your master's degree as an undergraduate by participating in our Accelerated Master's Program (AMP). Earn both your master's degree and a license to teach in secondary education (grades 7-12).

Why the AMP in Secondary Education Is a Great Choice for You

Save time and money on your path to an advanced degree. Our nationally accredited Accelerated Master's Program (AMP) allows you to earn your Bachelor's degree and a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in just 5 years.

Through the AMP, 6 credits are double-counted towards both your Master’s and undergraduate degrees. Plus, an additional 3 credits of graduate coursework may be taken while you're still an undergraduate.

Nationally Recognized Program

Our nationally recognized program is distinguished by hands-on learning, school-based field placement, technology integration, and personalized advising.

We also offer multiple licensure options. That way, you exit our program highly marketable and ready to be hired in more than one content area.
