CCV to RSENR Guaranteed Admission Pathway
The objective of this agreement is to promote the transfer of students from the Community College of Vermont (CCV) to the University of Vermont (UVM), Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources (RSENR). This agreement will allow the University of Vermont and RSENR to serve Vermont students by providing access to UVM programs and an affordable route to a B.S. degree in highly marketable areas. The B.S. in Environmental Studies is excluded from this articulation agreement as this major is included in the CCV to UVM 2+2 Pathway Program.
Students who have completed an associate degree at the Community College of Vermont (CCV) can be admitted to the University of Vermont’s Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources under the following conditions:
- Students must complete a minimum of sixty transferable academic credits, at least thirty of those taken at CCV.
- Students must present a CCV grade-point average of 2.80 (on a 4.00 scale) or better.
- Candidates for the Articulation Agreement must meet UVM’s minimum entrance requirements prior to CCV graduation.
- CCV students must initiate their degree program at UVM within two years of completing the CCV associate degree.
- CCV associate degree students will be held to the policies that are in effect at the time they are admitted to UVM.

Application Process
Current or prospective CCV students interested in this guaranteed admission Pathway should review the minimum entrance requirements, as listed on the Transfer Admissions website. CCV Pathway candidates are encouraged to contact the Coordinator of Transfer Admissions in the UVM Admissions office with questions about the admissions process under the CCV to UVM articulation agreement. Candidates are required to submit their Application, all supporting credentials, and all financial aid forms by the stated UVM deadlines.
Candidates whose GPAs fall below the minimum will be reviewed by UVM on a case-by-case basis. Those denied admission are encouraged to connect with the Coordinator of Transfer Admissions at UVM to review future options. Recipients of a CCV associate degree prior to 1999 may contact the UVM Admissions office for general transfer information.

Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources B.S. Degree Options
Environmental Sciences (ENSC)
The B.S. in ENSC combines a natural science-based core curriculum with field and lab-based environmental coursework designed to engage students in tackling real-world environmental problems. This blending of a strong science foundation with hands-on, problem-based instruction and internship, research, and study abroad opportunities prepares students with the knowledge and professional skill set needed to identify and respond to complex environmental challenges.
Forestry (FOR)
The B.S. in Forestry prepares students with the knowledge, experience, and critical thinking skills they need to help solve the complex problems facing forest ecosystems, sustainable forest management, and conservation in the 21st century. The Forestry degree is accredited by the Society of American Foresters and provides an excellent, hands-on preparation for a variety of professional forestry positions and related careers with Forestry faculty providing substantial assistance in creating such job placements.
Natural Resources (NR)
The B.S. in Natural Resources provides an academic framework that allows students to shape their studies based on their personal & professional goals. Students concentrate in one of three options, Resource Ecology, Resource Planning, or Integrated Natural Resources. They take foundational courses in natural or social sciences and then choose in consultation with their advisor upper-level and field-based courses in areas such as aquatic ecology; terrestrial ecology; environmental policy, economics and law; community-based resource planning; environmental education; sustainability and socio-ecological systems. Graduates are competitive for positions in the environmental field in a range of settings.
Sustainable Parks, Recreation, and Tourism (PRT)
The B.S. in Sustainable Parks, Recreation and Tourism prepares students to become leaders in innovative sustainable practices in the recreation and tourism fields; in the provision of high-quality recreation and travel experiences for individual well-being; and in planning and managing leisure systems for environmental quality and societal benefit. The program combines foundational knowledge in the social sciences, humanities, and natural sciences with professional skills in planning, business operations, and managerial skills. Students specialize in one of two concentrations: tourism planning and management, or recreation leadership and environmental education.
Wildlife and Fisheries Biology (WFB)
The B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology focuses on the biology, ecology, management, and conservation of animal populations that range from species common enough to be hunted/fished to species that are threatened and endangered. Management strategies include direct manipulation of populations or indirect manipulation through alteration of habitat and other landscape conditions. Courses emphasize applied ecology and techniques for bringing populations into balance, and provide hands-on experience in labs and field trips. The four-year curriculum emphasizes interdisciplinary wildlife science and provides a background for many wildlife and fisheries-related positions.
