Ceremony Location: Ira Allen Chapel

Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the Ira Allen Chapel offers an elegant backdrop for your wedding ceremony. The space is full of natural light and features simple decorations so you can add your own personal touch.

The rental includes five hours of use the day of the wedding and two hours for the rehearsal on the day prior.

Reception Location: Dudley H. Davis Center

The elegant architecture of our ballrooms flaunts the natural beauty of Burlington with views of the Green Mountains or Lake Champlain. The ballroom offers one of the largest spaces in Burlington, accommodating over 250 for a seated meal. The space can also be partitioned to create more intimate spaces that can be used for a cocktail reception and dinner.

Our UVM Dining Services partners create a menu that features fresh, local ingredients. UVM Dining Services also provides full bar service, including both full and cash bar options. UVM Dining Services is the exclusive caterer and bar service provider on campus. However, your cake can be provided by a baker of your choice.

Stay on Campus: Guest Accommodations

We offer on-campus overnight accommodations for summer weddings. These rooms feature air-conditioning, semi-private bathrooms and pre-made beds. Guests appreciate the affordable option and staying walking distance to your reception and downtown Burlington.

Do I have to be a UVM alumn or affiliate to get married at UVM?

No!

Are there any restricted decorations in the Chapel?

Yes. Decorations must be set up and taken down within 5 hour rental. Open candles and stapling of ribbons or bows to the pews is not permitted.

What are the time restrictions for weddings?

Set up time can start at 11:00AM
Events must end by 10:00PM
