Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Career Outcomes Survey and why is it needed?
The Career Outcomes Survey collects information about the employment and continuing education activities of UVM's graduates. This data assists the institution in identifying strengths and areas needing improvement by measuring progress on key initiatives regarding student career preparation.
Our survey follows the National Association of Colleges and Employers' (NACE) First-Destination survey standards and protocols while specifically reflecting the unique aspects of UVM. The data collected informs the strategic plans across the University aimed to support alums and grads with the tools needed to succeed in whatever career they pursue.
Survey results can also inform & inspire prospective students! They can see where others before them have landed, gain ideas on what they might do with a degree in and see the benefits from getting a degree from UVM.
Will my responses be confidential?
Yes, all responses are confidential. The Career Center works closely with the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment to manage the data and only report publicly in aggregate form - never attributable to an individual. When there is insuffient data to protect privacy the data will simply not be made publicly available.
