FAHC/UVM Medical Education Center
Schedule: Completed spring 2005
Project Manager: Brian Haas
Project Architect: Tsoi-Kobus Architects
The Medical Education Center was built as a portion of the Renaissance Project. Fletcher Allen Health Care, in alliance with the University of Vermont, undertook this five-year construction project, which was completed in 2005. The Education Center has two distinct yet integrated functions: medical library and classrooms. The Dana Medical Library is located on the lowest level adjacent to the corridor that connects Fletcher Allen Health Care with the UVM College of Medicine. The two upper levels of the Education Center contain a variety of small, medium and large classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual teaching equipment. These new spaces form an important addition to both institutions and confirm and facilitate the cooperative link between Fletcher Allen Health Care and the University of Vermont.
