Undergraduate Majors, Minors, and Graduate Programs
There is a lot to explore in UVM's academic ecosystem. With over 100 majors and almost 100 more opportunities for advanced degrees, our fields of study are broad and the intellectual pools are deep. And the best part is that ideas flow in all directions — English majors study economics, engineering majors study ethics. Because knowing why and where to build a bridge is as important as how. Explore our majors, minors, and graduate degrees.

Before Starting at UVM

Verify Employment
Once accepted, request an Employment Verification Report from UVM Health following their instructions.
Submit Discount Request
Email registrar@uvm.edu with:
- Your Employment Verification Report attached
- Your UVM Student ID included in the email
Tuition Payment Responsibilities
- If UVM receives your verification before the add/drop deadline, you pay 80% of tuition (with the 20% discount applied).
- If UVM does not receive verification on time, you are responsible for 100% of tuition.
- You are always responsible for all other UVM fees (e.g. Comprehensive, course, and late fees). The discount applies to tuition only.
For Future Semesters
- You must resubmit a new Employment Verification Report to registrar@uvm.edu before the add/drop deadline each semester to continue receiving the discount.
Additional Notes
- The 20% discount will appear on your 1098-T tax form as a scholarship/grant, which may have tax implications.
- You are subject to all UVM policies and procedures. The tuition discount is the only difference in your enrollment.
Relevant polices include:
Specific Financial Obligations
Student Responsibility
Once you register for courses at UVM, you enter a financial agreement with the university. You are responsible for paying tuition and fees directly to UVM.
Third-Party Payments
If your employer or another third party plans to reimburse you, this does not change your obligation to pay UVM. You must pay UVM first and seek reimbursement later.
Reimbursement Agreements
Any agreement between you and your employer to reimburse tuition and fees after course completion is separate from your financial responsibility at UVM. UVM expects payment by the due date listed on your billing statement.
Dropping or Withdrawing from Courses
If you cannot complete a course, you must officially drop or withdraw. Simply stopping attendance does not cancel your enrollment or financial responsibility. You may still be charged and receive a failing grade.
Late Payments
Payment after the due date will result in a financial hold (blocking access to add courses, view grades, or get transcripts) until payment is received; and may be subject to a $250 late fee and possible dis-enrollment.
Privacy of Records
UVM protects your educational records under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). UVM will not share your information - including grades, transcripts, registration, or financial details - without your written consent.
