The Spring 2024 Study Abroad Photo Contest is now closed.

We are excited to collect submissions for our study abroad photo contest! This contest is open to all current UVM students who have studied or are currently studying abroad on an approved program.

Submission Deadline

Submissions will be accepted beginning April 1, 2024 until April 10, 2024.

Submission Categories

You may submit one photo per category:

  • Self-portrait – a photo of you abroad, bonus points for UVM spirit!
  • Most Creative – examples include cultures, customs, history, traditions, friendships, candids, etc.
  • Nature & Cityscapes – landmarks, cities, landscapes, wildlife, etc.
  • Academic Experience – a photo taken on campus, in the classroom, during field work, etc. Bonus points if you are in the photo!
     
  • Bonus category: People’s Choice – our favorite runner up photos will be voted on by the UVM community via social media, the photo with the most votes wins!

Prizes

The OIE will select one winner from each category, who will receive $20 in CAT$cratch added to their CATcard as a prize. The winner of the People’s Choice category will receive the grand prize of $30 in CAT$cratch! Winners will be announced by May 6, 2024.

Contest Rules

  1. Photos must be taken while participating in a UVM-approved study abroad program.
  2. You must be in the photo or have taken the photo.
  3. Only one photo may be submitted per category.
  4. Photos must not include minors. If photos include adults other than you, you must have explicit permission from them to share the photo.
  5. Photos must be culturally respectful and may not promote any harmful stereotypes or generalizations.
  6. Photo must be original (not downloaded from social media, etc.) and high-resolution (300 DPI or more).
  7. The Office of International Education reserves the right to disqualify photos that are not appropriate, do not follow guidelines, or are low resolution.
  8. By submitting photos to this photo contest, you grant permission to the UVM Office of International Education the right to use the photos in marketing and promotional materials.
