International travel-study courses designed with clear academic and cross-cultural objectives are tremendously enriching experiences for our students. These opportunities align with UVM’s mission to prepare students to become accountable leaders within an increasingly global community ready to grasp complexity, solve problems, and effectively communicate.

UVM International Travel Study programs are faculty-led programs abroad offered during a Winter Break, Spring Break, Spring Semester, or Summer term. These programs typically give students the opportunity to earn 3-6 UVM credits in programs ranging from one to four weeks. New programs typically require 18 months lead time for development.

Deans of units considering the creation of a new UVM-run semester-length program must discuss the concept with the Provost and receive approval prior to engaging with administrative offices which support these endeavors.
