College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
Housed within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, UVM's greenhouse facilities support the research, teaching and outreach needs of many departments throughout the college and university. The university maintains three separate facilities located on or within five miles of main campus.

ODD BALL PLANT SALE
Our Annual Fall Houseplant sale happens Wednesday & Thursday, October 14 & 15, from noon until 4 p.m.; Friday, October 16 from noon until 5 p.m. See Plant Sale Inventory.
This week (October 5-9) we have chrysanthemums in single and multi-colors available Monday - Thursday from noon until 4 p.m. NO PLANT SALES on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9. HAPPY FALL RECESS!!
We also have mums for sale at the Horticulture Research Complex (65 Green Mountain Dr, South Burlington) on Fridays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

GOOD LUCK DEREK!! 
All of us at the UVM Greenhouses wish Derek Allen our best in his new adventures. Derek's last day at UVM was September 24. He has been at UVM since early Spring 2020 with his first hurdle to see us through, the COVID shut down. Since then he lead us to increased research and teaching activities, and public interactions with a fantastic plant sale line-up. We will carry on with the framework that he established.

Education

The main campus greenhouse has a living plant collection of 400 individual taxa, comprising a broad-range of specimens hailing from subtropical and temperate regions around the globe. Our diverse range of plants provide a unique teaching tool enjoyed by many UVM students and affiliates.

Research

Collectively, the greenhouse facilities provide over 12,000 square feet of controlled environment space for plant-related research. The campus complex currently houses research exploring insect ecology, biological invasions, plant systematics, and forest responses to climate change.

Outreach

The main campus greenhouse hosts several plant sales throughout the year that are open to both the UVM campus community and the public. With the help of student interns and workers, plants are also cultivated for ongoing sales at UVM's Bookstore in the Davis Center.
