Orange barTuition Management Services (TMS) Monthly Payment Plans

This option allows you to pay your educational expenses in smaller, more manageable monthly installments.

To help you better manage your educational expenses, UVM has partnered with Tuition Management Systems (TMS) to offer a payment plan allowing you to spread your educational expenses over smaller monthly installments, paid over the course of the school semester. Your only cost is a $60 enrollment fee.

Benefits of the plan include:

  • 24/7 secure account access.
  • Set up and modify payment plan budgets.
  • Make online payments for your monthly payment plan.

Plans can be set up to cover tuition, fees, university-charged housing, and meals over a maximum of five monthly payments.

  • July 1 to November 1 for fall charges
  • December 1 to April 1 for spring charges

Once enrolled, you will be billed monthly. Automatic monthly deductions from your checking or savings accounts are available at no additional cost.

Managing Your TMS and UVM Bill

Please review the following information regarding TMS plans and how they relate to your UVM bill.

  • TMS does not have access to a student's bill. Your TMS plan is set up for the payment plan amount you authorize. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that the remaining balance owed after accounting for the TMS plan is paid to UVM.
  • The full semester payment plan amount will be shown on the UVM student account once it is set up. Thus, it is important to review any remaining balance due or credit balance shown on the UVM account.
    • The TMS plan may be adjusted. If you need to make an adjustment to either increase/decrease the plan for the semester, go online or contact TMS at 800-722-4867 to request the adjustment.
  • Monthly payments to TMS are due at TMS on the first of the month.
    • Late payments are subject to a $40 late fee (paid to TMS).
    • You are encouraged to contact TMS to discuss automatic payment options to ensure your payments will always arrive on-time.
    • Past due payments to TMS will result in a hold on the student's UVM account, blocking access to registration, grades, and transcripts. Once TMS notifies UVM that the plan is current, the hold will be removed.
  • A parent or other person who sets up a monthly payment plan should request that the student set them up with Proxy Access through their myUVM account. Proxies who have been granted account and billing access will be able to view online the UVM student account, including bills, and will receive billing related communications.
