students in a study group

Students currently enrolled in another College or School at UVM who would like to transfer into or double degree in the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources, should complete the internal transfer application. Here is additional information you may find helpful regarding the requirements to transfer/double degree:

Requirements

Students wishing to transfer in to any of the RSENR programs must have earned a minimum GPA of 2.0 in the previous semester and have a cumulative GPA of 2.0. A meeting with the Program Director is required in order to learn more about the major and to discuss progression of courses to graduation.

Major/minor specific requirements:

Forestry (minor)
Certain required FOR courses will have prerequisites. Applications for a minor must be filed no later than June 1 of the year preceding graduation.

Geospatial Technologies (minor)
Geography majors who undertake the Geospatial Technologies minor are required to complete thirty-three credits in geography and fifteen credits towards the Geospatial Technologies minor.

Wildlife Biology (minor)
Pre/Co-requisites include: BIOL 001 or BCOR 011, BIOL 002 or BCOR 012 and NR 103 or BCOR 102

Note: Certain optional courses within RSENR minors may have additional prerequisites.

Review Process and Timeline:

Students may inquire about an internal transfer to a major within the RSENR directly within the Dean’s Office or they may complete the Change of Major/Minor form on the Registrar’s Office website. Students are then asked to set up an appointment with the Program Director for their desired major. The student and Program Director will complete a Transfer Authorization Form (PDF) which completes the transfer process.
