The Environmental Program in the University of Vermont (UVM) Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources has launched a search for a new faculty member to start the 2018-2019 academic year. The position is a full-time, 9-month appointment as a Lecturer in the Environmental Program. 

The Program seeks a dedicated and inspiring educator who shows evidence of being an innovative teacher, with experience mentoring undergraduate research and scholarship and an interest in joining a community of scholars focused on environmental problem-solving and social and environmental justice. 

The successful candidate will teach large and small undergraduate courses focused on global issues in environmental studies, sustainability, and/or natural resources and advise undergraduate students. The position includes opportunities to develop and instruct courses in the lecturer’s area of expertise. 

The UVM Environmental Program is one of the oldest environmental programs in the country and has 25 tenure-track and teaching faculty and 450 undergraduates majoring in Environmental Studies across three colleges and schools. The Program oversees UVM’s ten Natural Areas, amazing resources for teaching and research across the state. The focus of the Program is to develop innovative and interdisciplinary thinkers who understand and engage with the natural world and environmental issues from a diversity of perspectives.
