Marketing is a popular area of study in college, not only for business school students but also for those from other academic areas as marketing has many applications. Students had the chance to ask career questions and gain insights about what marketers do at the inaugural Careers in Marketing event that took place on April 4 at Ifshin Hall.
This marketing-focused career fair welcomed distinguished and diverse marketing organizations, including:
- Pivot Marketing, a digital marketing agency that provides a full suite of digital marketing, customer experience, and communication service.
- Crowd Proof, which helps businesses achieve their goals with custom market research and insights program; and
- The University of Vermont Division of Communications, the communications and marketing arm of UVM that includes 4 departments: University Marketing, University Communications; UVM Studios, and Academic and Administrative Communications
“The Careers in Marketing event was born from feedback from GSB students who wanted to explore the various career opportunities in the marketing world. We were excited to host a range of marketing employers from the Burlington area who could showcase the diversity in the work that they do,” said Sam Williams, assistant dean of student services, Grossman School of Business. “Students arrived, eager with questions and resumes in-hand, and employers were thrilled with questions and engagement from our students. Employers expressed interest in the future growth of this event, so it’s safe to say we plan to make it an annual offering.”
