The Rural Health program area, including the Northeast Rural Health Research Center, examines the factors shaping health care access and outcomes in rural communities across Vermont, the region, and the United States. Our work includes studies of rural population health, chronic disease management, workforce capacity, transportation, telehealth and other rural-focused care innovations, insurance coverage, and health system design, as well as analyses of how geography and resource constraints influence the wellbeing of rural residents and health care providers.
