The Northeast Rural Health Research Center (NeRHRC) is a partnership between UVM’s Larner College of Medicine and the Maine Rural Health Research Center at the University of Southern Maine. With funding from the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (HRSA/DHHS), the NeRHRC seeks to improve the well-being of rural residents and communities by conducting applied policy research. Faculty and staff expertise includes:
- Healthcare access
- Emergency medical services
- Rural healthcare providers
- Medicaid, Medicare, and uninsurance
- Chronic disease prevention, screening, and care access
- Behavioral health, including mental health and substance use disorders
- Rural aging & long-term services and supports (LTSS)
