The Northeast Rural Health Research Center (NeRHRC) is located within UVM’s Larner College of Medicine, at the University of Vermont. With funding from the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (HRSA/DHHS), the NeRHRC seeks to improve the well-being of rural residents and communities by conducting applied policy research. Faculty and staff expertise includes:
- Health care access
- Emergency medical services
- Rural health care providers
- Medicaid, Medicare, and uninsurance
- Chronic disease prevention, screening, and care access
- Behavioral health, including mental health and substance use disorders
- Rural aging & long-term services and supports (LTSS)
