Suites in UVM Residence Halls
Suite-style housing is available in Living and Learning, the Back Five, and University Heights North and South. The suites in University Heights North and South are reserved for students in either the Patrick Leahy Honors College, Liberal Arts Scholars Program (LASP), or STEM Scholars. Because there are very limited suite beds on campus, they are in high demand and may be unavailable by the time of your room selection window. We strongly recommend having a backup plan.
Suite Selection
Please be advised that there is no formal suite selection process. At this time, the only available path for students interested in suites is to form roommate groups of either two or three, depending on the desired location:
Students interested in Living/Learning suites should form roommate groups of 2; suites in L/L do not contain triple rooms and students who form a roommate group of 3 will not be able to select a room in L/L
Students interested in Back 5 suites should form roommate groups of 2 or 3
Students in the Honors College, LASP, or STEM program interested in University Heights North and South suites should form roommate groups of 2 or 3*
During room selection, the group with the earliest/first timeslot can select a room and should communicate the specific suite location to the other groups or individuals they hope to live with. Those students can then search for that suite during their own selection time and try to fill the remaining space(s). Please note that this approach comes with no guarantees, and it’s possible that other students may select the other rooms in your suite during room selection. Availability and selection times all play a role, and we cannot ensure that all members of a desired suite will be able to select into the same space.
*2-person suites are comprised of 2 single rooms joined by 1 individual bathroom and are reserved for students with accommodations.

Every suite if comprised of 2 doubles, 1-3 singles and 2 individual bathrooms.

Suite Types:
4-person suites
7-person suites
4-person suites are comprised of 2 double rooms and 1 individual bathroom.
7-person suites are comprised of 2 double rooms, a triple room, and 1 separated bathroom (2 sinks, a room with a shower and a room with a toilet).

University Heights North and South

8-person suites
4 to 6-person suites are always 2 rooms and are comprised of either 2 double rooms, a double room and a triple room, or 2 triple rooms, and 1 individual bathroom. Some rooms are joined by a common space, other rooms are joined by a bathroom and do not have a common space (Jack & Jill).
8-person suites are comprised of 2 triple rooms, 2 single rooms, a common space, and 2 private bathrooms.
