University Housing and Dining Services
Residential Engagement Council (REC) is a student leadership organization within University Housing and Dining Services (UHDS) that supports residential engagement and programming for students living on campus.

What does REC do?

Body

REC enhances the residential experience by:  

  • Creating Community Experiences 
    REC sponsors large-scale programs and traditions, such as Late Night Breakfast, that bring students together.  

  • Developing Student Leaders 
    REC connects students with leadership experiences through service, involvement, and conference participation. 

  • Supporting Residential Communities  
    REC invests in initiatives and resources that foster connection, engagement, and community throughout the residence halls. 

How is REC funded?

Body

Students living on-campus contribute to a REC fund as part of their housing costs. (This charge previously was labeled "IRA Fee") REC reinvests these funds into the residential experience by supporting:  

  • Large-scale programs and campus traditions, such as Late Night Breakfast 

  • Recreational and engagement supplies available through residence hall front desks 

  • Student leadership and community-building opportunities
