At BMES, our primary focus is to build and maintain a community of students with shared interests in engineering, biology, medicine, mathematics, computer science, and other interdisciplinary areas.

We host a wide range of events that allow members to engage with the greater Burlington community through outreach and service, including a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross and multiple community-building activities such as a Paint n Sip night with mocktails and a live art demonstration.

BMES also provides professional and academic development opportunities by hosting events like our biomedical engineering entrepreneurship panel and graduate student panel to help members explore future career and education pathways. In addition, the society supports professional networking by sending members to the annual national BMES conference to represent the University of Vermont.

Through these initiatives, BMES strengthens student engagement, promotes interest in biomedical engineering across campus, and expands opportunities for collaboration, leadership, and professional growth. We hope to see you at our next event!
