Across the Fence Feature on Archival Film Course

UVM Alum Rhiannon Hubbard (Reporting & Documentary Storytelling minor)

Across the Fence feature story on the Film and Television Studies Archival Film Course taught by Professor Deborah Ellis. Across the Fence is a daily, 15-minute television program co-produced by UVM Extension and WCAX-TV, Channel 3. It is the only program of its kind in the United States, and airs weekdays at 12:15 p.m. on WCAX.

Charlotte King (UVM Class of 2028)

Charlotte King, a sophomore English major at UVM, created an audio story called “Dear Panda” that earned her a spot as one of ten finalists in the 2025 NPR College Podcast Challenge. The piece was made for a UVM audio storytelling class taught by veteran audio producer and radio journalist Kelsey Tolchin-Kupferer.

Jon Kilik is a leading independent producer (UVM Class of 1970). He produced the first four films of the Hunger Games series and his credits include the Oscar-nominated Voice of Hind Rajab, Do The Right Thing, Malcolm X, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Babel, Foxcatcher, Before Night Falls, Dead Man Walking, and A Bronx Tale

Pulitzer Prize Winner

Eboni Booth, aplaywright and actor from New York City (UVM class of 2005 and English major), won the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for her play, Primary Trust. She has appeared as an actor in over a dozen films and plays, and her earlier play Paris (2020) was also award-winning.
