Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources
The Rubenstein School is committed to enhancing the understanding of the natural world through full inclusion of the unique and valuable perspectives reflected by all peoples.

Inclusive Excellence Initiatives

This work began in 1988 with USDA grants to support high school outreach and multicultural scholarships. Since that time the Rubenstein School has participated in multiple School and University-wide initiatives to ensure inclusivity of academics, community, environment, and operations.

With the formation of the University Intercultural Excellence Council, the Rubenstein School began an intentional and collaborative strategic planning process in 2021 to achieve the outcomes below.

  • All members feel welcome and included.
  • Equity is centered in our curriculum, business practices, and policies.
  • Opportunities for personal and professional growth are available to all.
  • Our curriculum reflects diverse perspectives and ways of knowing and being in the environment.
