Spring Break Request Form Open
Dear Students,
It’s that time… Spring Break is almost here! We have some important reminders before break begins.
All UVM residence halls will close on Saturday, March 8 at 12:00 noon and will reopen Sunday, March 16 at 8:00 a.m.
Planning to stay on campus or return a day early? Please be aware that the form to request spring break housing/early return closes Thursday, March 6 at noon. You can access that form in your housing portal.
Returner Housing Contract Details:
- If you are required to live on campus for the 2025-2026 Academic year, the returner housing contract is closing soon!
- You may edit and complete your contract until the end of the day Sunday, March 9.
- To participate in Returner Room Selection, your contract must be completed by the March 9 deadline!
Spring Break Reminders:
- Health and safety inspections will be conducted during hall closing. If you have any questions about this process, please contact your RA or Residence Director.
- Please take all belongings needed over break–you will not have access to your room during this time! This includes essentials like medication, passports, identification, etc.
- Not returning after break? Return your key to your front desk in a key return envelope and contact your Office Manager. We’ll miss you!
Before you leave, please refer to this checklist:
- Properly dispose of all trash, compost, and recycling.
- Set your thermostat between 68-72 degrees, or the #3 setting. Do not set heat in Mercy, McAuley, or Cottages.
- Leave refrigerators and fish tanks plugged directly into a wall outlet (not a power strip).
- Unplug all other electrical items.
- Close and lock all windows and blinds. Remove window fan units.
- Turn off all lights.
- Lock your door.
Staying on campus?
- If you have any urgent issues during break, please contact the RA on duty phone number posted at your hall's front desk or call UVM Police at (802) 656-3473.
- If you have non-urgent facilities concerns, please put in a maintenance request. Flooding, loss of power, heat issues, lost keys with UVM ID attached, shattered windows, and issues locking doors should be reported to UVM police.
- Please be advised of the changes to dining hall hours during break. Resident Dining Meals are not valid during break, but Retail Points can be used during this time. For dining hours, please check the dining website for what’s open now while on campus.
- Mail services will be limited as desks will be closed for the majority of the break. Please plan accordingly.
- Just because campus is quiet doesn’t mean that there’s nothing to do! Check UVM Bored for fun things happening on and off-campus!
On behalf of Residential Life, we hope you enjoy the break!
Sincerely,
The Department of Residential Life
