Laboratory Research Technician

Tiffany is a research technician and lab coordinator in the Nutrient Cycling and Ecological Design Lab, where she works on multiple projects focused on phosphorus dynamics in the Lake Champlain basin. Her research interests include water quality and nutrient dynamics in aquatic ecosystems and wetlands and the impacts of human interactions and climate change on these ecosystems.

Tiffany has a range of previous research experience, spanning biogeochemistry of Texas estuaries to climate change impacts on primary producer ecology in ponds and larval fish diets and recruitment in the Great Lakes. Prior to joining UVM, Tiffany worked in coastal New Hampshire developing living shorelines as a climate resilience strategy, monitoring water quality for shellfish harvest, and studying Vibrio and phytoplankton dynamics in estuaries. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, skiing, and cooking with produce from the local farmers’ market.
