Please beware of phishing scams related to HEERF! HEERF funding is only awarded to college students by the institution of higher education they are currently enrolled at or one they were enrolled at during Spring 2020 or after. You should not fill out any forms asking for your Social Security Number, date of birth or credit card/bank account information in regards to HEERF.

The University of Vermont has received allocations of funding for direct student support from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds I, II & III (CARES Act (HEERF I), HEERF II and HEERF III), which are authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) and the American Rescue Plan (ARP), respectively.

The funding available through the CARES Act and HEERF II has been fully awarded to students. The remaining HEERF III funding is being awarded to students with a focus on students with exceptional need, as required by the ARP.

At this time, students with exceptional need who were enrolled at UVM on or after March 13, 2020 and remain active students at this time (or will be for the 21/22 academic year) may apply for a HEERF III Emergency Grant. Award decisions for those who submit an application will be made on a rolling basis, with consideration for the amount requested and the overall amount available to award.
