Silviculture, Forest Ecology & Forest Management
I joined the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources in the Fall of 2018. My primary responsibilities are to teach undergraduate courses in the Forestry Program, advise undergraduate forestry students, and assist the Forestry Club and Woodsmen Team with their activities. I will also work with state, federal, private, and not-for-profit forest landowners on issues of sustainable forest management in Vermont. My research interests include the effect of natural disturbances and silvicultural treatments on forest dynamics and resilience, relationship between forest diversity and productivity, mechanisms that maintain tree diversity, forest restoration, and impact of climate change on forests.
I am always looking for motivated graduate students and Post-Docs! While I do not currently have funding available, if you feel that our research interests are a good match, feel free to contact me, and I can work with you to prepare and submit a research fellowship proposal with a funding agency (they are usually due in mid or late summer). These research fellowships are available to both graduate students and post-docs.
