• Eligible candidates are undergraduate students, medical students, and graduate students.  

• Mentors must be a UVM Cancer Center Full, Associate, Clinical or Core Clinical Member with a cancer-focused project. 

• Each member lab can submit up to two applications. Each application must be a distinct project. 

• For funded grad students, please review this document for information on stipend and duration.

• All awards will be reviewed with Student Financial Services in order to minimize any financial aid implications. 

• Students are expected to support the research project on a full-time basis over an 8-week* period during the months of June through August. Students will work with their mentors to identify a specific schedule.   

• All applications must include an Advisor Statement of Support from the student's identified mentor. 

• All students will be expected to participate in an end-of-program poster session. The Cancer Center will cover expenses related to poster printing.

• All student applicants must apply with a mentor for the UVM Cancer Center Summer Research Fellowship.

Instructions:

1. Visit UVM's InfoReady Portal: https://submit.uvm.edu.
2. Click Login (top right) and login with your UVM NetID. If you do not have a UVM NetID, please create an account. 
3. Once logged in, access the Summer Research Fellowship application directly by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://submit.uvm.edu/#freeformCompetitionDetail/2004999. 
4. Click "Details" for Supporting Documents and other general information.
5. Click "Apply" when you're ready to apply. 
6. You can click "Save Draft" in the bottom right corner to save any unfinished work to be completed later.  
7. Complete and submit your application by Wednesday, March 18 at 5:00 PM EST.
