UVMCC Launches Emerging Leaders Corps

The UVM Cancer Center (UVMCC) is excited to announce the Emerging Leaders Corp (ELC)—a new initiative designed to support and elevate early-career investigators while fostering collaboration across cancer research programs.

The ELC brings together rising researchers from different areas of UVMCC to share ideas, build connections, and explore opportunities for working together. By meeting regularly, members learn more about the wide range of work happening across UVMCC and help spark new partnerships that can lead to innovative research.

Each member of the ELC also serves as a liaison, bringing fresh ideas and potential initiatives back to their home programs. In recognition of their leadership, members receive dedicated support from UVMCC to help grow their skills and advance their careers.

The inaugural cohort of ELC members includes:

Reem Aboushousha, PhD, Deputy Program Leader, Cancer Cell

Emily Hallgren, PhD, Deputy Associate Director Community Outreach & Engagement

Kara Landry, MD, Deputy Medical Director, Cancer Clinical Programs

Kaitlyn Queen, PhD, Deputy Associate Director Cancer Research, Training & Education Coordination
