Reproductive Sciences

The Division of Reproductive Sciences is involved in a number of research projects in the areas of pregnancy-induced hemodynamic and vascular adaptations and maternal-fetal immunology. Our research is largely supported by extramural funding from the National Institutes of Health.

Our Division advances women's health research and education by hosting Maternal Fetal Medicine and Reproductive Endocrinology Fellows while providing necessary lab resources. We offer competitive internal funding, support research rotations for students, and have post-doctoral and graduate opportunities in various UVM programs. More details on research activities and faculty interests are available on our website.

Education

Body

The Division of Reproductive Investigation allows collaboration between physicians and scientists in reproductive medicine. Graduate students and post-docs work with clinical fellows to merge basic and clinical science. Post-doc research opportunities depend on funding. Inquiries should be directed to our principal investigators or Dr. Elizabeth Bonney.

Patient Care

Body

Our department is actively engaged in clinical research and studies are conducted at our affiliate site, The University of Vermont Medical Center.  Original investigations are initiated by faculty as well as participation in national Phase III trials. Techniques used include the following: Color Doppler ultrasonography, DEXA scans, abdominal CT scans, euglycemic clamps, activity surveys, laparoscopic ovarian diathermy.
