Paul Hines
Paul Hines, assistant professor in the School of Engineering, is quoted in a recent Burlington Free Press (BFP) article entitled, "Special Report: Vermont's Vulnerable Power Grid". The special report covers the frequency of electrical blackouts and the urgent need for updating of the nation’s electrical infrastructure.  Hines is among other national experts on cascading failures, calling for greater investment in blackout mitigation.

The BFP article notes that, "Hines' conclusions are substantiated by a wide spectrum of experts."

Dr. Hines has been named the 2012 recipient of the Milt Silveira Award.  This award will be presented to Dr. Hines during at a CEMS faculty meeting this fall.
