The engineering projects include: Renewable/Sustainable Energy that examines the power and impact of wind, solar, and biomass, trusses, and electrical engineering circuitry; Robotics arduno’s using artificial intelligence to perform specific tasks; Aerospace Engineering with prototype aeronautical devices using parachutes, small balloons, and helicopter principles; Earth Science Engineering exploring the impact of engineering globally; and Engineering Design for bone femur repair. In addition, students will create sand arches during the Institute’s beach day adventure (Monday, June 24 North Beach/from 10 am to 3 pm -- weather permitting).
Students will create UTUBE video presentations and display their prototype devices to judges at the University Mall on Saturday, June 29, 2013 in South Burlington, VT from 10 to 3 pm. Awards will be given to students for projects as well as written Technocratic Oaths that reflect their life purpose, and for Poetry that reflects their experience in the UVM/GIV Engineering Institute.
Students also will have the opportunity during this Institute to compete to represent the United States at the 7th IESO to be held in Mysore, India - September 11-19, 2013. The focus of the IESO is on sustainability issues such as climate change.
