Senior Abbey Knobel has been named the Biomedical Engineering program's Student Engineer of the Year. She is completing an Honors College thesis, entitled “Inferring Patient Fear from Word Properties in Pediatric Psychotherapy”. She has been performing research in Professor David Jangraw's lab and played for UVM's varsity soccer squad for all 4 years—all while earning top grades. After graduation, she’ll be working at Medtronic, having leveraged her summer internship into a full-time position.
