Women & Non-Binary Professionals and Students in STEM Conference

March 5 @ 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm

The College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences is partnering with the UVM Career Center and the Larner College of Medicine to host a conference aimed at showcasing women and non-binary professionals in STEM fields. By the end of this conference, you will be able to identify a support network within the STEM field as you enter the workforce, practice networking with peers and mentors through facilitated field-specific panels, and build confidence and self-assurance as a woman or non-binary student or professional in STEM! Register now to join us on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 4:30 pm-7:00 pm in the Grand Maple Ballroom. There will be a Keynote panel followed by several, industry-specific breakout roundtable discussions and, a larger networking dinner with the opportunity to chat with more employers in a casual yet intimate way.

 

Keynote Speaker:

Catherine Lango, VP Information Technology, BrandSafway

With over three decades in the technology sector, Catherine has established herself in software engineering and IT leadership. Her interests include networks, security, application development, data warehousing, and BI analytics. Come learn from her hands-on experience and dedication.

Roundtable #1—Navigating the STEM Pathway: Preparing for Success from Internships to Interviews. Strategies and tips for navigating internship and job searches, preparing for interviews, and what to look for when building a career.

Roundtable #4—Inspiring Stories: What Did You Wish You Knew Before Entering Your Field? Reflect on the advice professionals wish they had received before embarking on their STEM careers. Importance of self-advocacy, strategies for navigating challenging situations, and confronting biases in the workplace. Join us for a candid discussion on empowering oneself and thriving in your career.
