Affiliate artist, flute

Flutist Anne Janson has played second flute with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra since 1983 and with Vermont Mozart Festival Orchestra from 1985-2010. Janson has played solo roles with both groups, and is active in the New England Region as a freelance artist. She studied with Thomas Nyfenger at the Manhattan School of Music, with John Wion at the Hartt School of Music (where she graduated with honors, and won both a concerto competition and a competition in which she performed with the Emerson String Quartet), and studied privately with Timothy Hutchins of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Jeanne Baxtressor, Samuel Baron, and Julius Baker. Anne teaches flute at the University of Vermont, Middlebury College, and in her private studio.
