Concerto/Aria Competition

The annual Concerto/Aria/Composition Competition gives UVM students the chance to perform as a soloist or to have their compositions premiered with the University Symphony.

Open to UVM students who are currently taking private lessons from the music faculty at the university, or who are currently members of the department's large ensembles.

Winners of the past UVM Concerto Competition are not eligible to participate unless competing in a different category. Applications are available outside the Music Office.

Application Deadline: November 22, 2024
Audition: Monday, December 8, 2025, UVM Recital Hall, 4:00—6:00 PM
Dress Rehearsal: Tuesday, April 7, 2026, 7:00—9:30 PM (the winner must attend two more rehearsals on Tuesday nights.)
Concert: Saturday, April 11, 2026, UVM Recital Hall, 4:00 and 7:30 PM
