Mary Bilecki, UVM Peace Corps Recruiter
Before being accepted to serve with Peace Corps, Mary completed her undergrad studying International Development and Cultural Anthropology. Her passion for local food systems was sparked while working as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Rutland, Vermont distributing local food. Afterwards, she worked in rescuing and redistributing food in Boston where her passion for food justice grew and evolved to include community development and cultural exchange. The skills gained from these experiences assisted her work with Peace Corps as an Agriculture Extension Volunteer. The relationships built within her community in Jamaica ignited her commitment to sustainable, justice-oriented community systems and opportunity for all. Mary recognizes the privilege of her experiences and is grateful for the opportunity to serve as UVM’s Peace Corps Recruiter while working towards her Masters in Public Administration.
