Sarah Barrett, CDAE MS Candidate

Sarah graduated from UVM with a bachelor's degree in Global Studies and Community & International Development in 2018. During her time at UVM, she worked for the Office of Community-University Partnerships and Service Learning, as a Global Health Research Assistant, and interned with the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program. Her undergraduate honors thesis explored the termination of Temporary Protected Status in the US and the irregular border crossing of asylum seekers fleeing the US for Canada. After graduation, Sarah served in the Peace Corps as a Youth Development Specialist in Morocco from 2018 to 2020. As Chair of Peace Corps Morocco's Gender and Development Committee, Sarah furthered her interest in equitable, inclusive and socially just development. Sarah is excited to return to CDAE's transdisciplinary approach to community development, both local and global.
