Currently, Maryam Shabbir Abbasi is a PhD scholar in Sustainable Development Policy, Economics and Governance (SDPEG) at University of Vermont (UVM), USA and visiting researcher at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) in Pakistan. She is also an Advisory member to Climate Justice Council to the state of Vermont. She hosts a show on climate change titled “New Wave Global”. Previously, she worked at UVM as a Program Coordinator on issues related to water governance and climate justice for over a year. At SDPI she worked on climate induced migration, air quality, water quality, metal toxicity, plastic pollution, and climate justice.
