Steve Gove (Ph.D., Arizona State University) is an Associate Professor specializing in strategic management. His research focuses on research methodology and measurement, firm resources and capabilities, faculty productivity and influence, and management education. His work has appeared in leading journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, Organizational Research Methods, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of Management Education, Journal of Business Ethics, and Business & Society.
Dr. Gove has presented his research internationally at conferences including the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, Strategic Management Society Annual Conference, Babson College Kauffman Foundation Entrepreneurship Research Conference, and the North American Case Research Association. His co-authored article in Strategic Management Journal received the 2011 Sage Publications/Robert McDonald Advancement of Organizational Research Methodology Award from the Academy of Management’s Research Methods Division.
Dr. Gove served as associate editor at Organizational Research Methods and co-edited a special issue of Corporate Governance: An International Review on research methods. He serves on the editorial boards of Organizational Research Methods and Corporate Governance: An International Review. He previously served on the editorial board of Academy of Management Journal. He reviews for numerous journals, earned multiple Outstanding Reviewer Awards and recognition as Reviewer of the Year. He served as treasurer of the Academy of Management’s Research Methods Division and as a representative-at-large for the Strategic Management Society’s research methods community.
Before joining the University of Vermont, Dr. Gove held faculty positions at the University of Dayton and Virginia Tech and was a faculty associate at Arizona State University (Main and West). He has taught undergraduate, MBA, and doctoral courses in strategic management, competitive intelligence, and international management. His teaching excellence was recognized with Virginia Tech’s Warren Lloyd Holtzman Outstanding Educator of the Year Award and the Pamplin College of Business Certificate of Teaching Excellence.
