Looking to know more about the business of sports? For our annual Dean's Speaker Series, scheduled for noon, September 21 at the Waterman Memorial Lounge, the University of Vermont Grossman School of Business is proud to welcome UVM alum, Alan Gold, back to campus.
Mr. Gold is Partner and Head of Sports Media for Evolution Media Capital (EMC) which is the investment bank and advisory arm of Creative Artists Agency; one of the largest sports and entertainment agents in the world. Leveraging its unique relationship with CAA, EMC has advised on more than 50+ Billion in transactions for its clients.
During his tenure at EMC, Mr. Gold has advised premier content owners, including professional sports leagues and teams, college conferences, and international federations on their media rights and business strategy.
Clients have included the International Olympic Committee, National Hockey League, Major League Soccer, PGA of America, PGA Tour, Riot Games, Pac-12 Conference, Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, and Boston Celtics, among other leading teams/associations.
Prior to joining EMC, Mr. Gold was a Managing Director of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), where he led its corporate development expansion. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors of Tennis Channel, spearheading the launch of the US Open Series.
Previously, Mr. Gold was an executive at the National Football League, overseeing television, new media, and corporate development activities for the league outside of the United States. He also served as Head of Business Affairs for NFL Enterprises.
Mr. Gold's speech will focus on his journey from UVM, diving deeply into the $500 billion business of sports in the U.S. alone.

The Deans Speaker Series event will be held on Wednesday, September 21 at the Waterman Memorial Lounge, beginning 12 noon, is free and open to all.
