The University of Vermont is home to more than 150 buildings, many of them listed on the Historic Register, that span two centuries of architectural styles.

In coordinating major renovation projects, Planning, Design and Construction works to balance the preservation of these historical treasures with the current and future needs of the University's students, faculty, staff and visitors. In addition, we work with the University and outside contractors, consultants and building officials to improve the built environment through the creation of contemporary, well-designed and constructed structures that blend in seamlessly with our beautiful 200-plus-year-old campus, paying strict attention to sustainable design parameters and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification standards developed by the U.S. Green Building Council.
