How to connect to your (Active Directory Campus domain) H drive using a Windows computer.

If you are connecting from OFF CAMPUS you’ll need to firsts download and install the Cisco AnyConnect VPN.

After installing VPN you will be ready to continue.

If you are ON CAMPUS you are ready to begin. NOTE: If you are using your UVM owned computer that is joined to the domain, there is no need to use this process. Your H drive will mount as soon as you login, and you can click the Start button, then Computer in the menu to access the drive in the Network Location section of that window.

Make sure you have an Internet connection, then click the “Start” button.

In the search box type the following: \\files.uvm.edu\home\NetID

EXAMPLE***
My NetID is tsbartle
The path to my H: drive would entered:

\\files.uvm.edu\home\tsbartle

Once you have entered the path, press the Enter key. It will take a bit for a login prompt to appear, please be patient.

When the Login prompt appears, you will need to enter your UVM credentials.
NOTE** It is very important to enter your credentials in a specific way. This is the format you’ll need to use.

Username: campus\netid
Password: *************

My NetID is tsbartle I would log in to the system as seen in the image below,

Once you have entered you credentials, click the OK button. A new window should appear. This window is your H: Drive. Your H: drive will look similar to the image below.

Thats it, you’re done! You have successfully connected to your H: drive.
