This is the procedure for adding a UVM NetID to the local Administrator group. The requirement(s) to do this are the following:
-Must be a Lead Tech. All Leads have a -tech account. The -tech account looks like ex. jpcollie-tech .
NOTE: You can change your -tech account password by Ctrl+Alt+Delete and selecting change password. You must already be logged into your -tech account first.
Login to computer with -tech account. This will give you Admin rights.
Right click on My Computer (This PC in Windows 8). Now click on Manage.
This is the screen you will see upon selecting Manage. Now select Local Users and Groups.
Select Groups within Local Users and Groups. Then double click on the Administrators group.
Type in the NetID of the user you would like to add to the Administrator group under Enter the object names to select.
Select OK then Apply. Sign out of your account. The user should be an Administrator now.
